Barnsley Nats are hosting three events this November and in addition there is a film showing at the Civic Hall in Barnsley that may be of interest. While for members of the YNU there is a Zoom presentation on the 4th on the Great Bustard.
On Wednesday the 11th we have a visit booked to Manvers Recycling Plant. There are a limited number of places for this event as per the instructions from the venue. An email has been sent out already to the Nats email group. This visit was originally planned earlier in the year and had to be cancelled due to adverse weather.
On Saturday 14th we will be having a wintery Walk in the Park to an area we visit in the warmer months : Worsbrough Reservoir. This is a general observation visit where we will be looking at anything and everything; birds, animals, trees, plants, fungi, galls….. If you do come along please dress for the weather; there will be mud in places.
Wednesday 25th is the date of our indoor meeting. This is a presentation by Paul Hobson on the life of Henry Seebohm, Ornithologist, Steelmaker and Traveller. An interesting look at how different the study of nature was in the Victorian era.
While also on the 14th the Civic Hall will be screening the filming of People’s Emergency Briefing. This is an 11am start with a run time of 50 minutes with time afterwards to talk with other attendees. Although the event is free you do need to book to attend, this can be done via the Civic website.
