If you have been looking at our Programme page you will have noticed that this event is not as stated on the page. The changes to this event will also impact on the Moth Identification on the 20th.
The glowworms that have been seen are few; therefore Doug our lead for this event has suggested that we change this walk to Bats at the Dearne Valley Country Park. We will be meeting at the later time of 8 pm; as dusk falls and the bats come out to feed. We will be looking over the fishing lake for the daubentons and by the foot bridges for the pipistrelles (known haunt for these bats). Armed with the bat detectors we may locate other species too. The details have been emailed to our group; if you feel you would like to join us please drop an email request to us.
While the Moth Identification will now take place on the 26th of August. This is a popular morning event, starting at 10:30 and hosted by Jill and Doug. Where we will be tubing the moths to allow us by the uses of many books to learn how to identify the moth species. The details for this to follow by email shortly.
